Who Wants to Be a System Heir? (With Apologies to Regis Philbin)

Sorry for trying to be clever with punning a pretty good game show of recent vintage. But "Who Wants to Be a System-aire?" just didn't cut it and isn't imaginative enough for me, sooo... Since I have been writing about getting out of the system for the past year-and-a-half, I now pose the question, "Why wouldn't you want to get out of it?" In fact I've been out of it to some extent for so long I couln't imagine ever wanting to get back into it! In about ten years I will be eligible for Social Security and Medicare. I may not apply for these benefits, however, even though I paid into these programs. We'll see what happens. But for as long as I can I want to stay out of it. I don't like what I see.

I read all over the Internet in articles and forums about regular people being enraged at Wall Street and the Banksters, not to mention the government, because these folks caused "the crisis" on the one hand but are being rewarded for bad behavior on the other hand...bailouts, that is. These same folks are also blaming those who bought McMansions and the like with "liar's loans" knowing they would never be able to pay back the loans. Yet, these same folks don't seem to understand why they themselves aren't getting bailed out! I mean folks paying their mortgages just fine, folks not deep in debt and still making the money to cover their debts--and they are all pee-ohed because they aren't getting "their'n"! That is, I am talking about folks who have "played by the rules," not deep in debt, not reneging in mortgages, not sending "jingle mail" to the bank, paying off credit cards okay--folks who have no reason for getting a bailout...wanting a bailout anyway! These folks want the government to pay the rest of their mortgages, their credit card debt, etc., just because GM, Ford, AIG and others have gotten bailouts! Am I the only one that thinks this sort of thinking is completely morally bankrupt, and so, so "system"?

Then, you have folks like Karl Denninger of Market Ticker Forums telling his capital trading readers the following: "My personal confidence is shaken and on the verge of being destroyed, at which point I may as well take my wealth and depart the system entirely with it, buying a piece of arable land, some chickens and goats, a passel of firearms with many cases of ammo and, just in case, some horses so I can still get around if we suffer a catastrophic economic collapse." So this guy, who makes a fortune advising folks on how to invest--and not only that, he's got the ONLY forum I am aware of that actually CHARGES PEOPLE "Donations" to post at his forum!--is now telling people to "get out of the system" with a "passel" of firearms, and horses! [Note: Others, such as WhatReallyHappened, charge yearly memberships to post, but at least a member gets the benefit of being able to post his own materials...Denninger's does not!] I can just see this yuppie, who, no doubt, will SELL his books on how he got out of the system for big bucks (that is, lots of worthless fiat currency, but what does this guy know about REAL MONEY?), getting out there in the hot sun breaking his back putting in a garden! I can just see him feeding his horses! Or, slaughtering his goats, plucking his chickens...and does he even know how to shoot a gun? Because, you know, "getting out of the system" is so trendy! Soon, folks like Denninger are going to make "getting out of the system" so "system"!

Getting out of the system is NOT a trend. It is a way of life. An attitude. A mentality. A God-inspired spirituality. A "no holds barred" toughness where there isn't a whole lot of room for compromise. It is a lifestyle that isn't worth partaking in unless you are willing to go all the way to defend it, and is not for sissies, mentally, emotionally, or physically handicapped, and is only for the elderly if they have lived this way for many years or grew up on the outskirts of the system...unless you are a Vietnam, Iraq, or other wartime vet that is probably better off not going back into the system (half-Rambo, half-Walker-Texas-Ranger). I simply cannot see someone who has spent his or her life being into consumerism and materialism and constantly needing other people's feedback succeeding "out of the system", unless they slowly adapt to the changing lifestyle. Because it is indeed "culture shock."

It is culture shock, because we are born into a corrupted system of "dog eat dog," "winning isn't everything, it's the only thing," "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" (which is why maybe, Satan is called by some "ol' Scratch"), "I'm a financial failure so I'm gonna committ suicide but not before I kill my wife and kids", "only the little people pay taxes," "my house is bigger than your house," (or car or bank account or a certain male organ...) "socially inept? we have a drug for you!", "those who oppose our religion are going to hell for eternity", "do what I say, not what I do." And I can think of a thousand more but you get the idea. However, is this the system we want to be a part of just for the sake of our sensibilities? Isn't this a system WORTH getting out of?

In other news...

A recent rant by Zbigniew Brzezinski, a card carrying member of THEM, proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that THEY (the Illuminati/new world order crowd/oligarchs/whatever-you-call-'em) are split into two camps, maybe more now than ever, between the greed-and-power-knows-no-bounds camp, led by the Fed Reserve/Banksters, and the more "socially responsible" camp, led, I presume, by Brzezinski, Soros, and their ilk. Or is that just smoke and mirrors? Maybe, but Zbig's rant seems to have almost a touch of fear in it. Reading this I got th eimpression that THEY really are starting to get concerned now that THEY have gone a bit too far trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip, with US, the people, as the turnip. It seems as if Jimmy Carter's former official is "warning" the greed-and-power camp that unless they give the people a few scraps from the table, well, let me borrow a phrase that reminds me of a recent movie: "there will be blood" (meaning THEIR blood, that is...what does he care if most of the blood will come from us?) But I say don't be fooled. THEY are pretty much incapable of acting against THEIR selfish self-interest. And at this point, a few crumbs won't cut it anyway.

What New Hampshire started, trying to legislate in their statehouse a return to 10th Amendment "state sovereignty," Texas has followed up on. Which brings the number of states whose legislatures are trying to reassert "state sovereignty" under the 9th and 10th Amendments to over 20, including Oklahoma (where it has passed both houses), Colorado, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Washington, and Oregon. A couple of the issues that are driving this movement are Federal mandates that are unfunded, Federal moves to try to outlaw gun ownership (a big no-no in Texas and out west in general), and the proposed Federal legislation by the biggest radical-60s-tool that has won a seat in the House of Reps: Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush of Illinios, a FORMER BLACK PANTHER!!! He has proposed the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009, which if passed (assuming it doesn't incite some sort of revolt somewhere...but why am I assuming this revolt wouldn't happen? Because if any kind of revolt does occur, gun registration and/or a looting of this country even the brain dead can see followed by massive unemployment, breadlines, and folks being thrown out into the streets, will bring it about), will, I assure you, NOT be acknowledged by most gun owning Americans (particularly white folks...you know, the guy is a BLACK PANTHER! Race war, anyone?).

And speaking of race war...Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, sounds like maybe a race "interaction" of some kind only THEY are dumb enough to come up with could be in the planning stage. In his "Black History Month" speech, he said: "We are then free to retreat to our race protected cocoons where much is comfortable and where progress is not really made. If we allow this attitude to persist in the face of the most significant demographic changes that this nation has ever confronted- and remember, there will be no majority race in America in about fifty years- the coming diversity that could be such a powerful, positive force will, instead, become a reason for stagnation and polarization. We cannot allow this to happen and one way to prevent such an unwelcome outcome is to engage one another more routinely- and to do so now."

Nothing wrong with the races and ethnicities hanging out together or even living on the same block. But reality is that it isn't just whites who live separately. Even middle class blacks prefer to live amongst themselves. For example, Lakeview, Long Island, a very very nice community in Nassua County (or, at least it was in the 70s), that is very middle class and almost exclusively black. In those days there was no "redlining" in Nassau County, so it wasn't as if blacks were forced to live in separate areas. On the other hand you have Los Angeles which is now most black and Hispanic--and the two groups DO NOT get along, period. And it has been until very recently that Anglos and Hispanics along the Texas border region where I live had to live in separate parts of the border towns, and even attended separate schools (the schools of Marfa, Texas, I have been told, were not fully integrated until the late 70s!). And even among whites, different ethnicities live apart. In the town I grew up in on Long Island, there was a separate Jewish section, a mostly separate Italian section (two Italian sections, in fact), and the "old" section inhabited mostly by East European groups and some Irish. the same applies to Muslims (Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, or Dearborn, Michigan), Mormons (Utah, Idaho), Non-Hispanic Catholics (Boston and big cities on the Eastern Seaboard) vs. Protestants (the "Bible Belt"), Nordics (Minnesota, the Dakotas, Wisconsin), and, oh yeah! Native Americans, who didn't exactly ask to have their land stolen and be forced onto "reservations" as if they were Palestinians or something!...So that now, our first black Attorney General, wants to "do something" to bring all us different races and peoples together? Another BS planned failure notion. Busing didn't work. What makes this tool think his notion will work either? Actually, the reasons blacks and whites have gotten along as well as has been the last 40 years or so is because blacks and whites can live where they want to, assuming they can afford to. Hispanics? A good portion of Hispanics like the idea of living in communities where they can speak Spanish and not get anyone upset if they don't want to learn English. Chinatowns in New York City and San Fransisco work the same way. And I'd like to see guys like Holder tell Jews they have to live among gentiles, or else! Abe Foxman would have a field day!

It's folks like Holder, Rush, and Brzezinski that make me think that if nothing else, "the system" is designed to make people stupid!

Finally, the indispensible writer Paul Craig Roberts has written a wonderful piece on protecting our Second Amendment right to Bear Arms, and how, using a door opened by advocates of abortions in the Supreme Court, we just might be able to defeat idiots like Rush, Brady-Bill types and other neo-liberal tyrants: Squatter's Rights: just as we have had legalized abortions since Roe V. Wade (about 20 years to a SC decision that though the Constituion did not warrant abortions; since abortions had been legal over about 20 years, "squatter's rights" had been evoked to protect the right to abortion), THEY might not be able to do away with gun rights, as we have "beared arms" for over 200 years! Of course, the Supremes may not be able to stop this registration nonsense...it'll be up to us to take care of that issue!
